Hanging on a step to stretch painful achilles tendons

This is a nice early morning and ‘just before bed’ stretch that can be performed to help relieve tight, painful achilles tendons.

Simply stand on a step or stair on your toes and let your ankles drop as far as possible so that they are below the level of your ankles.

Hold for about 30 secs. There’s no need to carry out more repetitions, as this can be viewed as a nice smooth preparation for further stretches by lengthening the achilles gently.
