I have found exactly the same problem. I have flat feet anyway and got some fairly inflammed achilles tendons some years ago after a lot of hill running. After getting orthotics made to measure and a very long break, I started again some 6 months ago with no pain. It was all going well until I started wearing less structured (minimum stability) shoes and working on the forefront foot strike. Within 10 days of this (working up slowly mind you), I have very swollen tendons again which I am having to ice. I am very keen not to lose my fitness with another long break so am keen to hear any thoughts on what I can do to rehabilitate myself quickly.
